About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) position in Golden Valley, MN, is a contract role offering a pay rate of $30 per hour for a duration of 13 weeks. The job entails managing customer flow throughout the clinic and assisting healthcare providers in the management and treatment of patients. The Medical Assistant will work with a diverse patient population, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, requiring individualized care tailored to each age group. In this role, the Medical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and clerical tasks to ensure efficient patient management. Responsibilities include standard rooming processes, administering immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed by the provider, and conducting laboratory specimen collections as necessary. Depending on the specialty and clinic location, the Medical Assistant may also provide telephone support, facilitate communication between patients and providers, assist with prescription refills, and perform x-ray duties if they have passed the x-ray operator exam. Additionally, phlebotomy duties and clinic laboratory tests may be part of the responsibilities. The Medical Assistant will also support the clinic's operations by providing front desk/check-in support, ordering and stocking supplies, and assisting with prior authorizations. The expected work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts typically running from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility to work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, guaranteeing 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer flow throughout the clinic.
  • Assist providers in the management and treatment of patients.
  • Perform standard rooming processes for patients.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma is highly preferred.
  • Epic experience is highly preferred.
