HR Service Jobs is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Freelance Resume/CV Proofreader to join our growing remote team in Nigeria. This role is perfect for individuals with strong editing, grammar, and formatting skills who can transform an average resume into a professional and impactful document. As a proofreader, you will ensure our clients resumes are polished, error-free, and aligned with global recruitment standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and proofread resumes, CVs, and cover letters for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors

  • Improve readability, consistency, tone, and clarity of documents

  • Ensure the formatting aligns with professional standards and specific job industry expectations

  • Collaborate with resume writers or clients to clarify content where needed

  • Maintain confidentiality and data security of client documents

  • Meet assigned deadlines and manage multiple client documents simultaneously

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback and suggestions when necessary

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent command of written English (British or American style)

  • Strong attention to detail with a knack for spotting errors

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and PDF tools

  • Good understanding of resume structure, tone, and best practices

  • Ability to rewrite and restructure sentences for clarity and professionalism

  • Time management and the ability to work independently

  • A laptop/desktop and stable internet connection

Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years experience in proofreading, editing, or resume writing (freelance or full-time)

  • Background in HR, recruitment, content writing, or copy editing is a strong plus

  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and resume keyword optimization is a bonus
