What You’ll Do
• You will own the editing, copy, visuals, and strategy of Every Body Gets Dressed’s weekly shopping column — curating a selection of the most compelling drops of the week, from major brands to independent gems.
• Translate critical thinking into sharp, interesting and unique copy.
• Use Canva to create beautiful, editorial-quality graphics that enhance the reader experience.
• Monitor fashion trends, consumer shifts, and reader behaviour to optimise weekly edits for clicks and conversions.
• Contribute ideas to delight and grow the subscriber base and increase affiliate and subscription revenue.

This is a remote freelance role with flexible hours and significant potential for growth for someone excited to shape a distinctive voice in the fashion newsletter space. The role will begin at 2 days per week, and we are seeking someone who can start immediately.

Must Haves
• You are deeply immersed and ‘extremely online’ when it comes to the fashion zeitgeist. You follow every brand, from established to emerging, and are hyper-aware of every designer’s moves, collaborations, and launches. You subscribe to relevant style newsletters, trend reports, and fashion media to stay ahead.
• You have a clear editorial point of view and strong critical thinking skills. You can articulate sharp, original commentary beyond generic copywriting or predictable editorial buzzwords. We seek a unique editorial voice to help set the newsletter apart from conventional digital fashion publications.
• You are passionate about styling and getting dressed. You may have worked in styling roles, and your mind naturally thinks in terms of complete outfits. Seeing a piece sparks immediate ideas for how it can be worn and styled.

Nice-to-Haves
• Familiarity with the fashion and beauty Substack ecosystem. You subscribe to and read leading newsletters or have experience with, or deep insight into, the mindset of the Gen X and millennial high-spending, savvy shopper.
• Experience creating editorial, visually appealing graphic templates in Canva.
• An ability to tailor recommendations to the target audience (Gen X and millennial high-spending women). You can distinguish your personal taste from the audience’s preferences.
• Previous experience supporting or working in a shopping editor role—whether at a digital publication or with a content creator—with a proven ability to optimise affiliate revenue.
• A resourceful, proactive mindset. You are full of ideas and improvements, and motivated to take ownership of projects.
• An exceptional eye and a high level of taste.

To Apply

Please email liza@everybodygetsdressed.com and include:
• Your resume.
• A few links to relevant work (a newsletter, article, shopping guide, or moodboard-style curation).
• A short commentary on three products or collections that have launched this week and would interest our audience (high-spending, savvy Gen X and millennial women). No more than 3–4 sentences per brand.
• Your availability and day rate. Please include your rates with your application; we may not be able to consider submissions without them.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
