Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Bar Manager / Bartender to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, having the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As an Assistant Manager / Bartender, you will be responsible for assisting the owners in managing staff, overseeing operations, managing bar inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and most importantly ensuring customer satisfaction. Your role will be pivotal in this new establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist owners in overseeing the daily operations of the bar.
  • Train and mentor new staff members on bar operations, customer service techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Assist with scheduling.
  • Ensure that the FOH is fully stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Manage inventory control by tracking stock levels, placing orders as needed, and minimizing waste.
  • Operate POS systems (Toast experience a plus) for processing transactions accurately.
  • Assist in creating and implementing beverage menus, weekly specials, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with BOH on menus, upcoming events, and any improvements needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and ensuring satisfaction throughout their visit, including handling customer complaints and resolving any issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including proper storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in food preparation when necessary, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with management on budgeting and financial planning related to bar operations.
  • Ensure compliance with local health regulations regarding food handling and alcohol service.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 2-years of experience of supervising staff in the restaurant / bar industry is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of bar operations, including inventory management, ordering, and customer service. Previous experience with both, FOH and BOH, preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems (Toast is a plus).
  • Stong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and staff is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of local and state laws regarding alcohol service and safety, as well as food safety practices and regulations is essential.
  • Experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen management is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
