An exceptional candidate will have demonstrated Data Management process, risk, and control experience, reducing development and operational risks through modular, reusable, and automated solutions and other data management approaches. Essential Responsibilities: Partner with Synchrony Credit business and technical leaders to identify & prioritize business needs for data products and solutions to effectively drive Credit business activities and capabilities, while ensuring strategic alignment to Data management strategies. Deliver innovative data and analytic solutions for high impact Strategic Initiatives. Provide vision, leadership, coaching and strategic direction for data architects & engineers to deliver high quality data solutions based on business needs. Drive team to leverage creative & high-performing ways to solve technical challenges, design modern & effective solutions, focus on enhancing skills and enable unique career development opportunities. Effectively collaborate with the rest of the Data & Analytics organization to align proposed solutions with data management long-term strategy and to ensure existing Credit data solutions are performing optimally, accurately and efficiently. Partner with Data Office, other Data Management process owners and risk partners to mitigate risk. Proactively identify and resolve any issues and/or incidents. Interpret & respond to regulatory requests & heightened expectations for data management risk reduction efforts. Drive data architecture process development improvements, including automation and innovation efforts to reduce complexity and drive consistency to ensure data is persisted effectively across all data and analytic platforms. Continuously monitor team interactions, celebrate successes and pulse for disconnects to ensure optimal performance. Be a champion of change with the Office of Agile team to drive speed and agile delivery using SAFe methods. Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor\’s Degree and a minimum of 9+ years of IT experience OR in lieu of a Degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 12+ years of experience in an IT environment Minimum of 5 years of data architecture experience leveraging public cloud capabilities. Minimum of 5 years of Internal Client / Business Partner management experience Minimum of 7 years of experience in a large complex organization Minimum of 7 years analytic platform development experience Desired Characteristics: Demonstrated and successful cloud transformation and data application migration experience leveraging AWS public cloud services. Experience leading functional teams and/or large-scale projects with high visibility and complexity. Provides vision, leadership, and strategy to technology programs that are aligned to business goals and designed to optimize business impact, customer experience and financial results. Thought leadership required to identify emerging technology opportunities as well as to solve unique & complex problems while understanding agile software development methodologies & lifecycle Leads strategy and acts as the architect of solutions with deep technical expertise, this person is widely known to support within and across as a Principle Architect with mastery in more than one complex technological areas In-depth knowledge of testing practices and techniques Creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems Demonstrate independent leadership of concepts & ideas Drive responses to regulatory requests Understand technical issues and the severity of business. Grade/Level: 14 The salary range for this position is 170,000.00 – 290,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle. Eligibility Requirements: You must be 18 years or older You must have a high school diploma or equivalent You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months\’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months\’ time in position before they can post.
