We are currently looking for a Staff Product Designer - Design Systems in Germany. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced product designer to shape and scale a world-class design system within a fast-growing, AI-driven technology environment. In this role, you will lead the vision and evolution of a platform-wide design system that powers consistency, efficiency, and innovation across complex digital products. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, influence both strategic and operational decisions, and help bridge the gap between design and engineering. The position offers significant ownership, creative freedom, and the chance to pioneer AI-enhanced workflows that improve scalability and product quality. Working within a fully remote and globally distributed team, you’ll contribute to products used by thousands of businesses worldwide while mentoring others and driving design excellence across the organization. Accountabilities • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and continuous evolution of the organization’s design system, ensuring scalability, usability, and consistency across products and teams. • Design, build, and maintain reusable UI components, design patterns, documentation, and workflows using modern design system methodologies and atomic design principles. • Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, and stakeholders to establish efficient cross-functional workflows and improve the integration between design and front-end development. • Drive adoption of the design system throughout the organization by providing guidance, training, and advocacy for consistent design practices. • Contribute directly to end-to-end product feature development through research, wire framing, prototyping, and high-fidelity interface design. • Explore, test, and implement AI-powered tools and workflows to enhance design efficiency, documentation, scalability, and collaboration practices. • Influence product and design direction by promoting systems thinking, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Requirements • 8+ years of experience in product design, including significant experience building, scaling, and maintaining enterprise-level design systems. • Strong expertise in user-centered design, systems thinking, interaction design, and end-to-end product design processes. • Proven leadership experience defining design system strategies and driving adoption across cross-functional product organizations. • Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React, with experience collaborating closely with engineering teams. • Familiarity with component-based architectures and modern design tools such as Figma. • Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for AI technologies and their application within design systems and product workflows. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex design concepts and strategic value. • Ability to thrive in remote, fast-paced, and evolving environments while balancing long-term vision with practical execution.
