Job Description

This fully remote Project Manager role supports large-scale, vertical commercial construction and data center projects across multiple states, including Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and South Carolina. You will act as an owner’s representative, overseeing a high-profile, 12‑month, $40 million commercial/data center project in the Manassas, VA / Northern Virginia area. In this position, you ensure that the project is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards while working closely with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors. This opportunity allows you to contribute to a cutting-edge AI campus project for a leading AI chip developer, collaborating with a highly supportive and experienced project team.

  • Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day project management activities for large-scale vertical commercial construction and data center projects as an owner’s representative.
  • Ensure project milestones, schedules, and deliverables are met in alignment with client expectations, quality standards, and budget parameters.
  • Manage and coordinate general contractors and subcontractors on vertical commercial construction and data center projects, ensuring adherence to scope and contract requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and process submittals, and maintain accurate documentation by entering and updating information in the project database (approximately 30% of the role).
  • Create, review, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with all stakeholders (approximately 20% of the role).
  • Participate in and lead project meetings, including internal coordination meetings, bid meetings, general contractor meetings, and subcontractor meetings (approximately 20% of the role).
  • Collaborate closely with owners to ensure that construction progress aligns with design intent, performance standards, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project schedules, identify potential risks or delays, and work proactively with the project team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain organized project records, including correspondence, meeting minutes, logs, and reports, to support transparency and effective decision-making.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project team and among external partners.
  • Represent the owner and construction management team professionally in all interactions with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of construction management or project management experience in commercial construction when coming from the construction management/owner’s representative side.
  • 10+ years of project management experience if coming from the general contractor side.
  • 5+ years of experience managing RFIs, submittals, scheduling, and overall project management responsibilities specifically for vertical commercial construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing general contractors on vertical commercial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with data center or data campus projects, including coordination of complex building systems and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management processes, documentation, and project controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and facilitate effective communication between owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in handling project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and meeting records.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for leading meetings and documenting project activities.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on AI campus, data campus, or other technology-focused commercial construction projects.
  • Experience in data centers or other complex commercial construction sectors, demonstrating ability to manage highly technical builds.
  • Prior experience working as an owner’s representative or in a construction management firm environment.
  • Comfort working with geographically distributed project teams and stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting team members and partners at a high level.
