Psych RN LTC – A Great Opportunity – Full Time, No Weekends. At ViaQuest Psychiatric & Behavioral Solutions we offer unique and individualized care to clients in long term care settings, with multiple diagnoses including dementia, anxiety, depression, psychosis, and more. Our clients are supported by a team of RNs, LPNs, certified nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, mental health counselors, social workers, and case managers to ensure the best outcomes for those we serve. Responsibilities

  • Address the mental, behavioral and physical health needs of clients on a weekly/biweekly and/or monthly basis.
  • Complete in person nursing assessments as well as medication and chart review in long term care facilities (LTC).
  • Educate caregivers and clients on prescribed psychiatric and physical health medications and monitor for possible side effects.
  • Care management duties including coordination of community services and correspondence with treatment team members, including physicians, pharmacies, employment programs.
  • Assist clients in building coping skills to address mood, stressors and improve communication and in creating annual goals as it relates to their psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Possibly assist clinic and residential needs for assigned locations.
  • Help train and mentor peers.
  • May need to cover more than one facility depending on company needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • LPN or RN license.
  • Experience in psychiatric, mental and behavioral health services.
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned service area.
  • Preferably has experience working in LTC facilities as well as Behavioral Health.
  • CPR or Course can be provided during training.
