Dataworks, the innovation and data monetization organization within FedEx, is seeking a Communications Lead to help shape how we tell our story internally and externally. This role will focus on product communications, stakeholder engagement, strategic storytelling, and brand-building initiatives that position Dataworks as a leader in transportation data innovation.

This position will partner closely with the Communications Principal to develop compelling narratives around products, partnerships, innovation, and business impact. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong storytelling skills and can communicate complex concepts in a relatable and engaging way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop communication strategies and pitches supporting Dataworks products, initiatives, and business priorities
  • Create compelling messaging and storytelling for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support brand positioning and thought leadership efforts
  • Partner with product, strategy, and analytics teams to communicate complex solutions and innovations
  • Develop presentations, communication materials, FAQs, stakeholder updates, and executive summaries
  • Assist with communication planning and execution for launches, strategic initiatives, and organizational announcements
  • Support cross-functional stakeholder engagement and alignment efforts
  • Ensure communications align with enterprise brand standards and strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with the Communications Principal on external-facing and executive-level content

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/equivalent
  • Five (5) years of directly related communications experience
  • Experience in corporate communications, brand communications, product communications, or stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation development skills
  • Ability to translate technical or data-driven topics into audience-friendly messaging
  • Strong communication planning, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, analytics, innovation, or consulting environments
  • Experience supporting product launches or innovation-focused communications
  • Familiarity with enterprise communications and stakeholder engagement strategies

Domicile

This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States, excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories. However, if you live within the 50-mile radius of a campus, you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $116,000 to $174,000 per year across the national market. Actual compensation may vary based on candidate qualifications, experience, geographic location, and business considerations.
