Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Entry Operator to update and maintain information in our company's databases and computer systems.

The Data Entry Operator's responsibilities include collecting and entering data into databases and maintaining accurate records of valuable company information. Our ideal candidate has essential data entry skills, such as fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms. You will be working with a data team and a data manager. Previous experience as a data entry clerk or similar position will be considered an advantage.

Ultimately, a successful data entry clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date and usable information in our systems.

Essential Job Duties:

Enters alphabetical and numerical data from source documents, compares entered data to source documents, deletes incorrectly entered data, and re-enters correct data.

Maintains accurate department files and documentation.

May compose and type routine correspondence emails.

Is responsible for copying records as needed.

Responsible for answering department phones, processing calls and forwarding and/or taking messages.

Responsible for data entry of orders (new and changed) and quotes.

Maintains order files and is responsible for storage of closed order files.

Responsible for checking and confirming accuracy of purchase orders.

Assists with customer files when necessary.

Performs all other duties and functions of the department as assigned or required.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in administrative functions in an office environment, entering data and processing documentation.

Computer literate, able to use PC based word processors to enter data into files and spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel.

Language Skills:

Must communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with employees at all levels.

Must have excellent English grammar and spelling.

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to understand and follow instructions.

Must be able to understand departmental documentation and be able to process it accurately.

Physical Demands:

May be required to sit for extended periods of time.

May occasionally lift and/or move files and/or boxes up to 30 pounds.

This position may be subject to interruptions that may cause a shift in immediate priorities and/or work focus.
