We are looking for an experienced remote bookkeeper to become a long-term part of our team as we continue to grow.

Our business currently operates as a low-volume, high-value eCommerce company specializing in professional equipment sales and rentals, primarily currently with Big Commerce, as we explore a transition to Woocommerce or Lightspeed ecommerce and POS solutions. Within the next year, we anticipate expanding into a brick-and-mortar retail operation in the Southwest US, so we’re looking for someone who can help us build efficient accounting systems that will scale with our business.

We are intentionally moving away from traditional desktop bookkeeping and toward a modern, cloud-based accounting environment. We welcome applicants who embrace automation, AI-assisted workflows, and digital business processes.

What You’ll Do

* Maintain accurate books using cloud-based accounting software

* Reconcile bank, credit card, and payment processor accounts

* Record sales, expenses, and journal entries

* Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

* Assist with payroll and payroll reporting

* Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

* Ensure accounts are reconciled and ready for tax preparation

* Help establish accounting procedures that will support future retail operations

* Recommend workflow improvements and automation opportunities

* Work closely with ownership to improve financial visibility and reporting

Ideal Qualifications

* 5+ years of bookkeeping experience

* Strong understanding of accounting principles

* Extensive experience with cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Patriot Software, or similar

* Experience integrating accounting software with eCommerce platforms (such as WooCommerce or similar) and payment processors

* Familiarity with inventory accounting is preferred

* Comfortable using AI-powered bookkeeping tools and automation software

* Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail

* Excellent written and verbal communication

* Ability to work independently while providing proactive recommendations

Nice to Have

Experience with one or more of the following:

* WooCommerce or similar eCommerce platforms

* Stripe

* Familiarity with VTiger CRM is preferred (or similar)

* Traditional banking and Fintec financial institutions

* Bank account reconciliations

* Sales tax reporting

* Inventory management (Quotes, Invoicing and Inventory in VTiger)

* Multi-entity bookkeeping
