Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in marine vessels.
  • Perform routine maintenance on engines, electrical systems, and other critical components.
  • Utilize power tools and equipment to carry out repairs and installations.
  • Fabricate parts as needed using sheet metal and other materials.
  • Conduct inspections and tests using tools such as calipers and ohmmeters to ensure proper functioning of systems.
  • Assist with heavy lifting of equipment and parts during repairs or installations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards.
  • Document all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on vessels.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems in marine applications is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
  • Experience with soldering and fabricating components is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to marine repair work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
