Remote - Software Developer (Web Development Focus, Scope for App)

Other Jobs To Apply

We’re looking for a skilled and driven Software Developer with a strong foundation in web development, particularly WordPress and WooCommerce, to join our growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable building and maintaining production websites today, but who also wants the opportunity to grow into larger, more complex systems, custom platforms, performance-focused builds, and future software products.

You’ll work on real, high-traffic projects used by thousands of users, with a strong focus on custom development rather than off-the-shelf plugins.

We are interested in Remote Working Developers in the UK & Spain

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Custom WordPress & WooCommerce builds
  • Bespoke plugins, themes, and integrations
  • Performance optimisation and scalability improvements
  • Custom checkout, payment, wallet, and user systems
  • JavaScript-driven frontend features and interactions
  • API integrations and data-driven functionality
  • Using AI tools to assist development, debugging, refactoring, and optimisation
  • Ongoing evolution of existing platforms into more advanced systems

Required Experience:

You must have solid, hands-on experience with:

  • Web development in production environments
  • WordPress (themes, hooks, filters, custom plugins)
  • WooCommerce (custom checkout logic, orders, products, meta, hooks)
  • PHP (clean, structured, maintainable code)
  • JavaScript (vanilla JS and/or modern frameworks)
  • HTML & CSS (responsive, performance-conscious layouts)
  • Building custom solutions, not just configuring plugins or page builders
  • Using AI tools to assist development (e.g. code generation, debugging, testing, documentation, or optimisation)

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

  • Experience with high-traffic or high-load platforms
  • REST APIs (building or consuming)
  • Node.js or backend services
  • Performance tuning (caching, queues, async jobs)
  • Analytics, data pipelines, or dashboards
  • Cloud infrastructure, servers, or CI/CD pipelines
  • Interest in AI-driven features or automation
  • Interest in mobile apps or future platform development

What We’re Looking For:

  • problem solver, not just a task completer
  • Comfortable working with existing and complex codebases
  • Strong attention to detail and code quality
  • Able to work independently and take ownership
  • Curious, motivated, and eager to grow beyond “just WordPress”
  • Someone who uses AI thoughtfully and responsibly to improve output, not replace engineering judgement

Why Join CodeCasa Studios?

  • Work on real-world platforms, not just brochure sites
  • Significant scope to grow into larger software and product development
  • Direct impact on systems used by thousands of users
  • Flexible working environment
  • A team that values engineering quality over shortcuts
  • Opportunity to help shape future products, architecture, and tooling
