Forward-Deployed Product Manager

About Tailor

Tailor is a pioneer in Headless ERP technology. Our platform empowers companies to build internal workflows that adapt to their unique needs — faster, smarter, and developer-first.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Forward-Deployed Product Manager to serve as the key bridge between our clients and internal product and engineering teams. You’ll play a vital role in extracting requirements, managing communications, and supporting successful deployments led by the technical team. This client-facing, high-context role focuses on clarity, alignment, and speed.

What You’ll Do

  • Gather and Clarify Requirements

    • Work directly with clients to understand business needs and pain points

    • Translate those needs into clear, prioritized requirements for engineers

  • Own the Client Relationship

    • Act as the main point of contact for client-facing conversations during onboarding, scoping, and delivery

    • Proactively manage expectations, timelines, and feedback loops.

  • Support Internal Teams

    • Provide context and clarity to engineers to help ensure smooth delivery.
Ensure alignment between what was requested, what’s being built, and what’s being shipped.

  • Build Repeatable Patterns

    • Identify recurring client needs and help formalize templates, docs, or processes to streamline future deployments.

    • Help improve internal handoff flows, requirement intake, and communication patterns.

  • Shape the Product Roadmap

  • Distil recurring customer insights into strategic themes, prioritized high-impact features, and propose data-driven roadmap that advances Tailor’s vision.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years in a Software Company

    • Relevant experience in a SaaS, ERP, or composable software environment is preferred, especially with an understanding of modular solutions, low-code platforms, or customer-centric software deployments.

  • 5+ years in product management, solutions, customer success, or consulting roles with strong client interaction

    • Proven ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience managing customer relationships, translating business needs into actionable product requirements, and facilitating customer-driven product changes.

  • Exceptional communication skills — you can make complex things sound simple and actionable.

  • Organized, structured thinker who can reduce ambiguity

  • Technically fluent enough to collaborate with engineers and ask the right questions

  • Based in or willing to be frequently present in Los Angeles. ~20% travel.

  • Travel requirements/expectations. 15-20%

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ERP, internal tools, or operational SaaS products

  • Familiarity with APIs, data workflows, or developer platforms

  • Consulting or customer onboarding background

  • Comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 + Bonus

  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision, flexible PTO, and more
