As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.<br><br><strong>Required Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li>One year of recent experience as a behavioral health RN</li><li>Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations</li><li>Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li>ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)</li><li>CPI Certification</li><li>Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position<br><br></li></ul><strong>Summary:<br><br></strong>Behavioral Health nurses assess, diagnose, and address the mental health needs of individuals, families, and communities. They work with individuals, families, groups, and communities to develop a nursing diagnosis and plan of care. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and continuously evaluate outcomes to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in mental health settings.<br><br><strong>Essential Work Functions:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and document findings using evidence-based tools</li><li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers, to develop patient-centered care plans</li><li>Provides and coordinates patient care with other health team members</li><li>Monitors patients' responses to interventions and reports outcomes and adjusting care plans as needed</li><li>Administers medications as ordered with appropriate documentation educating patients about their use, side effects, and adherence</li><li>Support patients during medical procedures relevant to mental health care, such as ECT or crisis interventions, and monitor their responses</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice</li><li>Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards</li><li>Advocates for patients' needs and rights, ensuring culturally sensitive and ethical care delivery</li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance psychiatric nursing practice</li><li>Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources</li><li>Complete accurate, timely documentation to support legal, clinical, and operational requirements<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Essential Skills:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills</li><li>The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required</li><li>Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills</li><li>Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending</li><li>Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism</li><li>Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.</li><li>Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
