Our client, a leading force in the construction sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to contribute to impactful, large-scale infrastructure projects. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in Nigeria. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of structural components for major civil engineering works, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to international standards. This role demands a deep understanding of structural mechanics, material science, and advanced engineering software.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the structural design and analysis of complex infrastructure projects, including bridges, high-rise buildings, dams, and industrial facilities. Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit Structure, SAP2000, ETABS). Perform advanced structural modeling and simulations to assess load capacities, stress distribution, and potential failure modes. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including Nigerian codes and international best practices. Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized designs. Conduct site visits and inspections (when feasible and required) to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues. Review shop drawings and construction submittals from contractors for adherence to design specifications. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams. Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and design documentation for project stakeholders. Manage project timelines and budgets related to structural engineering aspects. Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering materials, technologies, and methodologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structures. Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent registration is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a significant focus on large-scale infrastructure projects. Proven experience in designing a variety of structural systems (concrete, steel, timber) for complex buildings and infrastructure. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Revit Structure). Strong understanding of material properties, seismic design principles, and geotechnical considerations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate remotely and present technical information clearly. Experience in managing design teams and projects. Knowledge of construction methods and practices. Ability to work independently and manage multiple project deliverables in a remote environment.
