Our client, a prominent force in the construction industry, is seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer to join their esteemed team in Owerri, Imo, NG . This is an on-site position requiring deep technical expertise and hands-on project involvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and integrity of a wide range of construction projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and safety standards. You will lead the structural engineering aspects of projects, from initial conception through to completion, collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and construction crews. Responsibilities include performing complex structural calculations, developing detailed structural drawings and specifications, and overseeing the construction phase to ensure adherence to design intent. A thorough understanding of various construction materials, such as concrete, steel, and timber, is essential. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The role demands excellent problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to safety and excellence. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in structures is required, along with significant professional experience. Key Responsibilities: Design and analyze structural components and systems for various construction projects. Ensure designs comply with national and international building codes and standards. Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design plans. Perform structural assessments and provide recommendations for existing structures. Manage project timelines and budgets for structural engineering tasks. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff. Stay updated on new building technologies and structural engineering best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural engineering. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro). In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards. Strong understanding of concrete, steel, and timber structures. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage projects and lead teams effectively.
