Mental Health Therapist (1099 Contractor) – Washington State

Tree of Life Therapy + Self-Care is seeking compassionate, motivated, and client-centered Mental Health Therapists to provide services throughout Washington State. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families through both telehealth and in-person services when available.

We welcome both independently licensed clinicians and associate-level therapists working toward full licensure.

Position Type

  • Independent Contractor (1099)

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy services.
  • Complete clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment goals and monitor client progress.
  • Maintain compliance with Washington State laws, professional ethics, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, providers, and community resources as appropriate.
  • Participate in supervision and consultation when required by licensure status.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Active Washington State license or associate license, including but not limited to:
  • LICSW or LSWAIC
  • LMHC or LMHCA
  • LMFT or LMFTA
  • Associate-level clinicians are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, families, or adults preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining professional standards.
  • Commitment to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

Preferred Experience

  • Anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, and family systems work.
  • Experience with CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-focused therapies, or other evidence-based modalities.
  • Telehealth experience is a plus.
