Job Details – Med/Surg Tele RN Travel Nursing Job
  • Location: Lubbock, TX 79410 (Texas travel nursing jobs)
  • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
  • Assignment Length: 20 weeks (September 22, 2025 – February 9, 2026)
  • Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:00)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Unit: Med Surg South 6
  • Free Employee/Visitor Parking
Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Compact nursing license accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Ability to float between units and sister healthcare facilities as needed
  • Two supervisory references from within the last 3 years (covering at least 1 year)
  • Willingness to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Solid navy blue uniform/scrub attire required
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with orthopedic trauma, post-operative care, joint replacements, amputations, and other acute medical conditions
  • Administer blood products and manage wound vacs, CPMs, and high-flow oxygen equipment
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, utilize rapid response teams, and perform peripheral line care
  • Implement isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
  • Float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed to support patient care
  • Document all patient care activities using the Epic EMR system
  • Participate in orientation and complete required training modules
