Job Details

Role Summary

  • Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the HR Officer (Volunteer) will provide vital support to HECADF’s human resources management.
  • This role is ideal for a motivated individual seeking to gain professional HR experience in a dynamic nonprofit environment, contribute to community impact, and grow their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, and screening applicants.
  • Maintain accurate staff records, contracts, and personnel files.
  • Support onboarding, induction, and training of new staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with HECADF HR policies, safeguarding policies, and relevant labor regulations.
  • Coordinate staff welfare, performance management, and leave administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical HR practices at all times.
  • Contribute to the improvement of HR systems and policies to meet organizational growth needs.
  • Perform other administrative and HR-related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in HR or administrative roles (volunteer or paid) is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Nigerian labor law, HR principles, and safeguarding standards.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
