Role Description

This is a contract role.

Are you passionate about anime and skilled at managing complex workflows? Crunchyroll is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager, YouTube to join our Audience Development team in Dallas. In this pivotal role, you'll help bring anime to fans worldwide by optimizing YouTube operations and ensuring smooth execution across multiple channels.

Reporting to the Manager of YouTube Strategy & Content, you'll oversee everything from asset management to approvals and uploads, ensuring seamless coordination between teams. This role is ideal for someone with project and/or asset management experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Your work will play a key role in connecting millions of fans with the anime they love by driving efficient workflows and upholding Crunchyroll's high standards for content delivery.

The Operations Manager, YouTube excels at managing multiple workflows, coordinating asset deliveries across various channels, and handling posting and approval requests from diverse stakeholders. While the focus is on YouTube operations, strong organizational and project management skills are the top priority—deep platform expertise is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Source, prepare, and distribute large volumes of assets internally and with external agencies for YouTube uploads.
  • Manage structured metadata, geoblocking, and asset labeling to ensure accurate regional monetization settings.
  • Coordinate and communicate between multiple teams to facilitate approvals, upload requests, and asset sharing.
  • Contribute to data collection and compile performance reports.
  • Support marketing initiatives by uploading trailers and other promotional content to YouTube.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing operations, asset management, or a related field.
  • Clear and precise communication skills (verbal and written) - including strong attention to detail, grammar, and spelling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Eager to learn new things and constantly strives to find content and strategy optimization opportunities.
  • A proactive problem-solver who identifies issues early and proposes effective solutions.
  • Experience evaluating systems to create workflow efficiencies.
  • Respect for anime and its lifestyle and culture, familiarity with fandom communities.

Bonus Points for

  • Experience working in the anime, animation, or gaming industry.
  • Experience using Wrike, Asana, Trello, or similar project management tools.
  • Adept with Google Suite (Sheets, Doc, Slides) or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of YouTube metrics and related analytics tools, including YouTube Studio, TubeBuddy, Tubular, or SocialBlade.
  • Understanding of YouTube SEO, best practices, and monetization strategies.
  • Experience working with international teams.
  • Japanese language skills.

Pay Range

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.
